Product
- What are granite cobbles?
- Granite cobbles — also called setts — are blocks of natural granite cut and calibrated for paving. Unlike concrete pavers, the colour is mineral rather than pigment, so it cannot fade. Yorviaa manufactures them in six sizes from 3"x6" up to 8"x8".
- What sizes and thicknesses do you manufacture?
- Squares in 4"x4", 6"x6" and 8"x8", and rectangles in 3"x6", 4"x8" and 4"x12". Thickness is specified per project against the traffic the surface has to carry — tell us the loading and we will recommend it with the build-up.
- How long does a granite cobble surface last?
- 40 to 50 years and beyond. Granite is close to inert against abrasion and moisture, so the practical lifespan is set by how well the surface was bedded rather than by the stone. Concrete pavers typically need replacing at 8 to 15 years.
- Is granite paving slippery when wet?
- Not when it is finished correctly. A flamed or natural-split top gives a textured surface with good slip resistance wet or dry, and the joint pattern sheds water quickly. Honed and polished finishes are for interiors, not driveways.

Specification
- Which laying pattern should I choose?
- Start with the load. Herringbone at 45° or 90° interlocks in two directions and is the pattern for anything carrying vehicles. Basketweave, stack bond and running bond have no interlock and belong on terraces and walkways. Send us the drawing and we will recommend one.
- Do you supply samples?
- Yes. We supply loose samples and, on larger projects, a one-metre sample panel laid in the actual pattern so it can be seen wet and dry before the order is confirmed.
- How much wastage should I allow?
- Around 5% for patterns that meet the edge square, and 8–10% for a 45° herringbone or any field with a curved or irregular boundary, where every closer is a diagonal cut.
- What maintenance does granite paving need?
- Washing down, and topping up the joint filler occasionally. No sealing schedule and no colour treatment. Individual cobbles can be lifted and reset, so a service trench is an invisible repair rather than a permanent scar.

Ordering & delivery
- What is the minimum order quantity?
- It depends on the pattern and size — a single pallet for a small courtyard, container loads for a landscape scheme. Send the area to be paved and we will quote it either way.
- Do you export outside India?
- Yes. We ship across India and to more than five countries, containerised and documented, with our team on call through unloading and installation.
- How are the cobbles packed?
- Dry-laid into your chosen pattern, checked for tolerance and shade, then meshed and crated pallet by pallet — so what reaches site is a pattern ready to set, not a heap of stone.
- How long does an order take?
- Lead time is quoted with the order and depends on quantity, pattern and finish. Share your programme early: pattern pallets are best dispatched in laying sequence, and that has to be planned before manufacturing starts.
